The Slovenian Corporate Treasures Association (SCTA) is delighted to introduce Erna Slana as the new President of the Association.
Erna Slana is the Director of Finance and Controlling and a Member of the Board of Directors responsible for Finance at Medis Group, the leading company for the commercialization of innovative pharmaceutical products in 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Prior to joining the Medis Group, she worked in the telecommunications, aviation, tourism, and financial sectors, giving her an extensive experience and a deep understanding of different industries and business dynamics. This diverse background contributes to her ability to collaborate with various experts to support the development of the association.
SACT's main mission is to promote the professional development of its members, create a network within the treasury industry, and provide a platform for sharing information and deepening knowledge.
The SCTA association regularly shares key developments in the field of financial regulation, best practices in corporate finance both in Slovenia and in Europe, as well as cases of automation and digitalization in the financial sector.
In the anniversary year of 2023, the SCTA hosted the CEE Treasury Conference in September. The conference provided CEE financiers and treasurers with information and insights into the expected macroeconomic trends in the CEE region until 2025 to support them in developing strategies for the future with the following presentations: The future of the energy sector in the region, The importance of hedging strategies in the economy, Managing performance indicators in the face of supply chain disruptions, The importance of treasury automation and its benefits, and The path to a sustainable business.
In 2023, the SCTA members were also introduced to the use of artificial intelligence by ChatGPT, the preparation of ESG sustainability report in annual reports and insights into the world of cryptocurrencies.
The Strategic Council meeting, planned for early 2024, will identify the key topics for financers and treasures which will be further presented to the association's members at the regular meetings and the annual conference – to help them be more confident in facing the many of challenges ahead.
